The Unanswered Cry

A mother faces the heartbreaking decision: to keep her daughter with her in the face of certain death, or to entrust her into the hands of the nuns of the convent. With the looming shadow of Nazi Germany coming ever closer, does she really have a choice? When she returns after the war to collect her daughter, the nuns deny ever having seen her before and insist they have no Jewish children. She turns to Rabbi Kaheneman who loudly calls “Shema Yisroel” in every convent, striking the inner essence of the Jewish neshama still brightly shining in each Jewish child.
